Review : Windows XP Compatible Mini-PC
I bought the VOT132_BVDB00 version of the VOT132 (this is the version without a Windows operating system installed) in order to use it as a legacy Windows XP computer. I bought my VOT132 from Beach Audio using Amazon. I had a valid XP license and installation disk from an older computer I had recently retired. Unlike ViewSonic's subsequent PC mini, the VOT125, the VOT132 has full driver support for Windows XP. I had to download the XP drivers from the ViewSonic website, but everything that I needed was there. Unlike some folks, I have had basically no noise problems with this computer. The computer is extraordinarily compact (especially when compared with other so called mini computers like the wonderful Mac Mini and Dell's lumbering zino HD).
After seven months of infrequent use, my VOT132 failed due to a heat related problem that caused the computer to shut down during or shortly after boot up. I was able to get the machine to work for a while by placing it immediately...
